Great Harvest established a wonderful bakery in DePere. We love sharing ideas of tasty and simple recipes for you to enjoy. What’s in your mind for dinner? How about some pasta? Pasta is appreciated all over the world and there are countless ways to prepare it. Here’s an Alfredo that goes very well with our Asiago Pesto. This delicious Mushroom Spinach Alfredo by Betty Crocker is simply awesome!

You will need:
8 oz uncooked fettuccine
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms (3 oz)
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 lb fresh spinach leaves
½ teaspoon salt
1 can (18 oz) creamy Parmesan basil cooking sauce
1 cup grated Parmesan chesse

How to do it:
1. Cook and drain fettuccine as directed on package.
2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook mushrooms and garlic in oil, stirring occasionally, until tender. Add spinach, a few handfuls at a time, cooking until spinach is wilted between additions. Stir in salt and cooking sauce. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low.
3. Add cooked fettuccine to skillet; toss to coat. Add cheese; stir until melted. Simmer 2 to 3 minutes or until mixture is thick and creamy.

Once you have this delicious Alfredo, the last step is to accompany this wonderful dish with Great Harvest’s Asiago Pesto.  We add garlic and onions to our white dough and then roll up a generous helping of pesto and asiago cheese. Come to our bakery in DePere and try our Asiago Pesto alongside your next Mushroom Spinach Alfredo!
